The TheraFast CoEx Project: "Integrated multidisciplinary platform for accelerated and innovative therapeutic discovery"

Overall Objectives of TheraFast:
- To establish a screening platform for discovering novel human monoclonal antibodies and T cell receptors (TCR).
- To implement small molecule discovery using DNA-encoded libraries (DELs).
- To discover and validate antibody/TCR and small molecule therapeutic leads.

Contribution to TheraFast
Based on the extensive expertise in molecular and cell biology, molecular virology, analytical and preparative biochemistry, proteomics and bioinformatics - the IBAR research team consisting in: Dr. Norica Nichita, Dr. Ioana Popa, Dr. Olivia Dobrica and Dr. Florentina Pena as key investigators assisted by Dr. Simona Ghenea, Dr. Gabriela Chiritoiu and by PhD Students Ramona Tecucianu and Claudiu Roznovan will contribute to the TheraFast project - by developing experimental platforms of innovative tools aimed at discovering new therapeutic leads and human monoclonal antibodies. These efforts will focus on the production and purification of high-quality protein targets, including viral and tumour-associated antigens, as well as the development of cellular systems expressing challenging, traditionally undruggable membrane proteins. These advanced platforms will facilitate antibody discovery and DNA-encoded library (DEL)-based small-molecule screening. In parallel, the team will design and implement innovative biological assays to characterize and validate the activity, mechanisms of action, and therapeutic potential of promising candidates.
